Safe Air confirms loss of 69 jobs

Safe Air in Blenheim has confirmed the loss of 69 jobs.

Eighty four jobs were originally at risk under re-structuring plans proposed in July, but an extension of a contract with Defence has meant some jobs have been saved.

Most of the jobs to go will be in the production area, but some support positions will also be lost.

Safe Air, based in Blenheim, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air New Zealand providing aircraft maintenance and related services to civilian and military customers.
