The demolition of the Canterbury Brewery in Christchurch is being brought to a close on Saturday with the removal of a 35-metre chimney at the plant.
The inner-city brewery was deemed beyond repair after the earthquake in February 2011, which ended an era that started with brewing on the site more than 130 years ago.
When the site is cleared, the building will eventually be replaced with a Metro sports facility.
