Police have uncovered what is believed to be a laboratory used for the manufacture of illegal drugs at a property in the Pelorus Sound area.
No one was home at the address when the premises were searched on Thursday.
A scene guard was in place overnight and Police National Clandestine Laboratory Team and ESR scientists are analysing the scene.
No arrests have been made.
Police say the parties involved are known to them and inquiries into their whereabouts are underway.
