An officer has been injured and four police vehicles damaged after a chase in Auckland.
The pursuit began after the owner of a Remuera property arrived home to find his house burgled and the offender driving off in his van on Tuesday.
Police found the man in Pakuranga and tried to spike the vehicle, but the driver rammed two police cars. He continued to drive at police vehicles, but was eventually stopped.
An officer cut his hand during the incident.
Police say the man showed absolutely no regard for the safety of other road users and the officers are glad the incident ended with only minor injuries.
