10:27 pm on 26 July 2013

A reserved decision in the trial of the man charged with causing the death of Canterbury financier Allan Hubbard will be delivered next week.

Mr Hubbard was killed when the car he and his wife were in collided with a four-wheel-drive near Oamaru in September 2011.

Andy Earl from Mosgiel near Dunedin pleaded not guilty to charges of careless driving causing death and careless driving causing injury to Jean Hubbard.

It was confirmed on Friday that Judge Gary MacAskill would deliver his decision next Thursday at the Christchurch District Court.
