Police reopen 22-year-old missing person case

Police have reopened the investigation into the disappearance of a Christchurch man 22 years ago.

Terence Hendry was aged 32 when he went missing in June 1991. Police say he was last seen at his house in Woolston and is believed to have left in his distinctive hand-painted orange car.

Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald says police regularly review unsolved cases and after reviewing the files there are a number of lines of inquiry they will be following up.

Mr Fitzgerald says officers will be reinterviewing people connected to the case. He says people's motivations and allegiances change over time and he is hoping that if anyone didn't tell the truth 20 years ago, they will do so now.
