Queenstown police are investigating a serious assault on a man who was at a bar in the resort town at the weekend.
The 37-year-old man was on the dance floor of the Skybar, on Camp Street, when he was assaulted by at least one other man at 2.45am on Sunday.
Detective Lisa Watt says the man has undergone surgery for significant facial injuries, and will require ongoing treatment.
She says the police are appealing for witnesses to help with the investigation.
