Police say a man is dead after a car and a truck crashed on State Highway 3 north of Palmerston North on Sunday evening.
The sole occupant of the car died at the scene at Awahuri, 12 kilometres north of Palmerston North.
Police say the road is likely to be closed until about 9.30pm on Sunday, and diversions are in place.
