Otago Regional Council says the Clutha, Manuherikia, Taieri, and Pomahaka rivers are dropping from earlier flood levels.
However, it said MetService is predicting further heavy rainfall along the Main Divide on Friday and Saturday, with likely spillover for the headwaters of Lakes Wakatipu and Wanaka.
That may cause river levels in those areas to rise again.
