Special rates for Premier League fans

New Zealand's biggest broadband provider has announced it will provide special rates to its customers wanting to view the English Premier League.

Telecom's deal is part of a partnership with the company that has bought the rights to the football, Coliseum Sports Media.

The deal means some new Telecom customers will be given a free season pass to watch the football.

Existing customers will be given extra data so they too can watch the games and discounted game fees.

One game is expected to use about 1.1 gigabyte of data.
