A real estate company handling the mortgagee sale of the Kingston Flyer steam train says 35 parties have registered their interest in buying the train and its associated land.
Bayleys Group agent Barry Robertson says this augers well for Kingston residents and rail enthusiasts who want the train running again.
The train was parked up in November after its owners went into receivership and Prudential Nominees took over.
Tenders close on Friday and interest has come from New Zealand and overseas.
