Kordia directors are meeting to discuss the future of a proposed fibre-optic trans-Tasman cable.
The telecommunications cable, which its estimated will cost about $200 million, is planned to run between Auckland to Sydney.
The state-owned Kordia last year signed a memorandum of understanding with Pipe Networks of Australia intending to build the cable.
Kordia says the submarine cable would provide competition for Telecom's Southern Cross Cable.
