A Tauranga pie maker has won the Supreme Pie Award at the Bakels annual awards.
Pat Lam from Gold Star Patricks Pies Bakery is the first to win the top prize for a third time - this year for his creamy mushroom, bacon and cheese pie.
He also picked up three gold awards, one silver, and a highly commended.
Mr Lam says his previous wins, in 2003 and 2004, were good for business. He supplies shops in Rotorua and Tauranga.
