ASB Bank still expects customers to have a 20% deposit for a new home-loan.
Westpac has starting to offer home loans to those with deposits less than 20%. Mortgage brokers say other banks were loosening restrictions.
But given the uncertainty in the current financial climate, ASB says the key to all lending is serviceability.
