11:17 am on 18 June 2009

A 15-year old boy accused of killing Kerikeri pupil Libby Templeman is to stand trial next year.

The boy is charged with murdering the 14-year-old schoolgirl in October last year. Her body was found in an old orchard.

He was granted name suppression when he appeared in the High Court at Whanagrei on Thursday.

But the judge told the boy his trial is likely to be in the first quarter of 2010 and that eventually his name would be published.

The boy remains in custody in a youth facility and was remanded to reappear on 18 September.
