Police in the Far North say the family of a missing Hokianga woman is now prepared for the worst as foul play looks increasingly likely.
Barbara Ann Moka, 38, went missing after a tangi at Omanaia on 9 June and neither her phone nor her bank account has been used since.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rhys Johnston said the longer Ms Moka is missing, the less likely she will be found alive and her friends and relatives are distraught.
Mr Johnston said only a couple of people have responded to their appeal for information from people at the tangi - and that is surprising and disappointing, given the large crowd.
Twenty officers are working on the case.
Police finished interviewing Ms Moka's partner last Friday in relation to her disappearance.
He has told them that he and Ms Moka had a minor car crash after the tangi and walked back to the marae - but she later left without him in the early hours of 9 June.
