A man fleeing from police in the Bay of Plenty crashed his car early on Monday.
Police said the vehicle was spotted at about 3am weaving across a road near Mount Maunganui.
As they approached, the driver accelerated away from them, reaching speeds greater than 130km/h. But he failed to negotiate a roundabout and crashed into a building. He was not injured apart from a bruised finger.
Police said he was twice over the legal limit for blood alcohol.
