Christchurch police are investigating an aggravated robbery in which a liquor store employee was threatened with a knife.
The robbery took place at the Warrington Liquor Centre on Tuesday about 10.30pm.
Detective Sergeant Al Lester says a male employee who was alone in the store confronted a man who tried to leave with a bottle of bourbon he hadn't paid for.
Mr Lester says the offender pointed a knife at the employee before leaving the shop and getting into a car parked on Barbadoes Street.
The man is described as Pakeha, about 170 centimetres tall with slim build and brown hair, aged in his late teens.
He was wearing black jeans, a red bandana and a red and black checked shirt.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
