Lawyer doubts no one else will be tried over twins' deaths

Nearly three years after the deaths of the Kahui twins, the lawyer who represented their father during his murder trial says no one may ever be brought to justice for their killing.

Chris and Cru Kahui both died of head injuries in June 2006.

Their father, Chris Kahui, 23, was later acquitted of the murders.

Defence lawyer Lorraine Smith told Nine to Noon that, unless the person involved confesses or new evidence comes forward, she does not believe anyone will be charged.

Ms Smith says she now has only peripheral involvement with Chris Kahui, as she is a part of his life he would rather forget.
