Police say more people have come forward with information after the family of a roadworker shot dead in south Waikato appealed for help.
George Taiaroa, 67, was operating a stop-go sign when he was shot on Tram Road in the Kinleith Forest, near Atiamuri, while directing traffic at a single lane bridge on 19 March.
His family held a news conference in Hamilton on Thursday, pleading for anyone with information to contact police.
Police say they have received some calls from the public, mainly concerning sightings of a blue four-wheel-drive, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, that sped away from the scene when Mr Taiaroa was shot.
Since the shooting, police have asked for any sightings of a blue Jeep Cherokee and say it could now be anywhere in the North Island.
