Christchurch police have named a cyclist hit and killed by a car in the suburb of Wainoni on Wednesday morning.
Joanne Marjorie Drummond, 54, of Christchurch died at the scene shortly after the crash, just after 9am.
A police spokesperson says it appears the cyclist was struck by a car turning from Wainoni Road into Breezes Road.
Police expect to formally interview the driver later this week and several witnesses have provided statements.
The intersection was closed for a short time but cordons have been removed.
On Sunday, cyclist Carl Taylor, 31, died after being hit by a car about 1km away.
