Funeral held for shark attack victim

8:14 pm on 4 March 2013

The funeral for an Auckland filmmaker killed in a shark attack last week was held on Monday afternoon.

Adam Strange was training for an ocean swim at Muriwai Beach last Wednesday when he was attacked by at least one four-metre-long shark, thought to be a great white.

The 46-year-old is survived by his wife Meg and two-year-old daughter.

Mr Strange has been described as a great father, husband and friend, and his funeral was held at the Muriwai Beach Surf Club, an organisation he was actively involved in.

The shark involved in the mauling was shot at by police and has not yet been found.
