The small tornado struck the Mayfield Golf Course at about 6pm on Thursday.
Greenkeeper Alan Dixon was at the course when the twister hit, and says branches were ripped from trees and were spiralling in the air.
He says trees were uprooted, and debris was left strewn across the course and the neighbouring paddock.
Grounds convener, Bill Allen, says the twister caused a "hell of a mess", but did not affect the clubhouse.
Mr Allen says they hope to clear the course in time for play on Saturday
