The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter service says a woman has been injured in a car crash after a vehicle towing a caravan overtook another, also towing a caravan, near Maruia on the West Coast.
The helicopter service says the caravan clipped the 25 year old farm worker's car, which was travelling in the opposite direction on State Highway 65.
It appears her vehicle then spun off the road into a bank at speed, leaving her with moderate injuries.
She has been flown to Nelson Hospital. None of the people in the towing cars were hurt.
