Wellington police are investigating whether the death of a former officer in Wainuiomata is related to a serious assault in his home.
Jack Morrisey was found dead in his home on Friday by his son. The 82-year-old had been attacked in his home on 23 October.
Two people aged 14 and 18 have been charged with aggravated burglary.
A police spokesperson says a post-mortem is being carried out on Monday to establish if Mr Morrisey's death was related to the attack in any way.
