One person was trapped in a vehicle following a crash involving five cars on Sunday afternoon in the suburb of Gracefield in Lower Hutt.
A section of Wainui road between White Line East and the off ramp at Gracefield road where the incident occurred has now reopened.
Wellington Free Ambulance transported a man in his 20s and an 11-year-old girl, both with serious injuries, to Hutt Hospital.
