An Australian tourist is in a serious condition in hospital after a quad bike accident in the Franklin district.
Police say the crash happened at Onewhero, near Tuakau, about 2pm on Thursday.
The 38-year-old woman was flown to Auckland Hospital by rescue helicopter and police say she has only been in the country a few days.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
