Spring Creek workers fear decision already made

10:53 am on 18 September 2012

The union representing Spring Creek mine workers fears the mine's owner has already made its mind up about the future of the pit.

Solid Energy is considering a rescue plan put to it by some of the 370 workers whose jobs are on the line after the state-owned company said the West Coast mine was no longer viable.

The West Coast organiser for the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union says communications between the workers and the company have gone cold since the plan was submitted.

Garth Elliott says he will be looking for answers when the union meets with the company on Tuesday afternoon.
