A forestry worker is being treated for serious injuries in Gisborne Hospital after a log rolled on him on Monday afternoon.
The man, 28, was working in a forestry block between Ruatoria and Tikitiki on the East Coast.
The ECT rescue helicopter flew a St John paramedic to the scene and then flew the injured man to Gisborne after he was stabilised.
The paramedic says he suffered serious injuries to his hips and arms.
She says his workmates did a great job of caring for him until emergency services arrived.
