Retailers have enjoyed their best quarter for sales in more than a year
Statistics New Zealand says retail sales rose 1.1% in the three months to the end of June, the biggest quarterly increase since March 2011.
Sales of motor vehicles and parts rose 7%, although fuel was down.
Once vehicle and fuel figures are excluded, sales rose 0.7%, the biggest quarterly increase since September 2011.
