Man still in intensive care after Te Puke multiple stabbing

One man remains in intensive care at Tauranga Hospital after a multiple stabbing in Te Puke on Friday night.

The man and two others were hospitalised after being found by the police at a house in the town.

The two other men have since been discharged.

A 35-year-old fruit picker has been charged with assault - after being found by police at another address - having been beaten with a hockey stick.

He has been charged with assault and remanded in custody to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Monday, when he will face further charges.
