A section of State Highway 1 south of Taupo closed by flooding on Monday night reopened on Tuesday, with the Transport Agency urging drivers to take care at the site, between Motuoapa and Turangi.
State Highway 1 also reopened further south after a fatal crash at the town of Bulls just before 4am on Tuesday.
The male driver was the sole occupant of the car. No other vehicles were involved.
In the South Island, State Highway 73 reopened late on Tuesday after being closed by a slip between Springfield and Arthurs Pass, but the Transport Agency is warning of delays at Waimak Bluffs.
