The New Zealand Olympic team has been finalised with 185 athletes to represent the country at the 2012 Games in London.

Decathlete Brent Newdick, heptathlete Sarah Cowley and track cyclist Rushlee Buchanan were the final athletes selected, following confirmation that no others reached the selection standard during the qualification period which ended on Sunday.

London will be the first Olympics for all three.

Buchanan had been named in the team in April this year pending quota spot confirmations from UCI, but with all spots now confirmed has been officially added to the team pursuit in London.

With a final number of 185 athletes, the London 2012 team equals that of Beijing 2008 in size and the biggest ever to attend an Olympic Games.
