A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a 41-year-old Christchurch woman who died in hospital on Saturday.
Timothy Foley, 52, has been in custody since Michelle Lawrence was seriously assaulted in the suburb of Linwood early on 10 June.
In the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday, police sought a further two weeks in custody for Mr Foley in relation to charges of murder and grievous bodily harm.
A team of 10 detectives is working on the homicide investigation.
