Police say they are impressed with behaviour of people attending the Ohakune Mardi Gras, despite arresting 20 people and evicting a further 28.
Most of the arrests were due to breaches of the liquor ban, however there were also two assaults on police and two people were charged with disorderly behaviour for fighting.
One person who allegedly had 30 ecstasy tablets has been charged with intending to supply a class B drug.
However the police say most of the 6000 people who attended the celebration were well behaved.
