Focus on pizza shop as police try to track down killer

Police investigating the death of a Paeroa pizza shop owner say they are still focussing their inquiries on his shop, as they try to find his killer.

Jordan Voudouris's body was found in an alley in the town on Monday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Whitehead says officers are continuing a scene examination at Mykonos Pizzas, which could take another two days.

Mr Whitehead says investigators are still trying to establish Mr Voudouris's habits and routines and have interviewed a number of his friends, employees and restaurant patrons.

He says police are also working with local businesses that were open on Sunday night to identify people who were out-and-about and may be able to help reconstruct activity in the town that night.

Mr Whitehead is asking anyone with information to contact police, especially those who were in the town centre between 10pm on Sunday and 6am Monday morning.

Police say even though a post-mortem has now been completed they can not comment on the extent and cause of Mr Voudouris's injuries because the Coroner has asked them not to do so.
