Lotto jackpot to go up to $30 million

For the second successive weekend, no-one has scooped Lotto's biggest-ever cash prize.

More than two million people bought tickets for Saturday's $25 million Powerball Jackpot, but the prize remains untouched.

New Zealand Lotteries spokesperson Karen Jones says some ticket holders came pretty close.

She said seven players all had the correct six numbers but none of them had powerball No 8. They will, however, win $316,000 each.

New Zealand Lotteries raised the jackpot on Friday, in response to bumper ticket sales throughout the country.

As it has not been won this weekend, the jackpot will rise to $30 million.
