NZ and Australian markets down

The New Zealand and Australian markets were down on Friday morning.

At 12:11pm, the NZX 50 was down 14 points, or 0.4%, at 3474 on turnover of $33 million.

Across the Tasman, the ASX200 was down 21 points at 4055.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 75.22 US cents, 77.45 Australian cents, 48.9 pence, 59.1 yen and 0.6094 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 69.01.

Fletcher Building was down 17 cents to $6.12, Telecom unchanged at $2.58, Chorus up 3 cents at $3.29 and Contact Energy was down 4 cents at $4.84.

Sky City Entertainment was down 2 cents to $3.54 and Sky Television was up 5 cents at $5.00.

Auckland International Airport Ltd was down 2.5 cents to $2.55, Air New Zealand was up 1 cent to 88 cents and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare up 3 cents at $2.08.

The Warehouse was unchanged at $2.52 after announcing plans to sell and lease back four properties - a move it expects to earn it $100 million.

Pumpkin Patch was unchanged at 88 cents after Rod Duke joined the board. Kathmandu was unchanged $1.45.

Trade Me was down 9 cents to $3.98.
