Students taking American Studies papers at Canterbury University are yet to learn if they will be able to complete their course.
The university on Wednesday night decided to ditch its American Studies programme due to funding problems. The decision will affect four staff and 24 students.
A spokesperson says the university will help the students find options to complete the course, if they choose to.
Theater and film studies, and cultural studies programmes survived the cull, by one vote each.
