Fire crews in the Tasman district are fighting a large fire in a forestry block.
The fire is covering about 5 hectares near Tapawera.
The fire service was alerted to the fire at 3.30 Thursday afternoon.
Nine appliances, two helicopters and 40 fire fighters are on site.
