The Labour-led Government says it would boost spending on disability issues by more than $91 million over the next five years.
The Health Minister, Labour's health spokesperson David Cunliffe, has announced a funding package worth $91.3m for disability services.
He says the purpose is to improve wages and conditions for disability support workers and increase accessibility to services.
Mr Cunliffe says the package contains $86m worth of confirmed funding and an additional $5m which is still being finalised.
The funding is to come from planned funding increases in health.
It includes a $1.5m boost for respite care this year, eventually rising to $3m.
