National has a 14% lead over Labour in the latest One News Colmar Brunton poll - slightly narrower than last week's poll.

The survey, released on Sunday 19 October, put National at 50% support, down one point from the previous week's poll, while Labour was three points higher on 36%.

The Green Party lost ground, sliding from 8% to 5%.

None of the other minor parties reached the 5% party vote threshold.

The Maori Party was down one point to 2%, New Zealand First also slid one point to 2% and ACT was steady on 2%.

John Key's rating as preferred Prime Minister was up one point at 40% while Helen Clark gained three points to 34% support.

The poll of 1,003 voters was carried out between 11 October and 16 October and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1%s.

Radio New Zealand's political editor says it shows National still has a healthy lead.
