Christchurch City Council says it wants to make sure people injured in last year's earthquake in Canterbury are remembered alongside those who died, at this month's commemoration services.
Mayor Bob Parker says the council is in contact with most family members of those who died in the February earthquake.
But he says it needs to ensure all the family members of the dead, and those who were injured, are included on the day.
Mr Parker says, while it is important to remember those lost, many more were injured in the quake.
He says all those who were hurt, along with their family members, are being invited to a special seated area for the three services that will take place on 22 February.
These are the Civic Memorial Service, the Christchurch Earthquake Awards and the special service to mark the first anniversary of the 2011 quake.
Mr Parker says those who were hurt, and their families, will remember the day for the rest of their lives, with many having lasting injuries.
