Student Volunteer Army mobilising

The Student Volunteer Army is being mobilised to clean up sediment from liquefaction in hard-hit parts of Christchurch.

Sam Johnson, one of the founders, says most students are on holiday at the moment so other volunteers are being asked to check the sva.org.nz website to see what they can do.

People living in a green zone who are unable to clean up by themselves can register on the website too.

Mr Johnson says volunteers should bring shovels and wheelbarrows, protective gloves and masks.
