More than 340,000 claims have been made to the Earthquake Commission following the two major earthquakes in Christchurch.
The deadline for claims to the EQC over the 6.3-magnitude quake on 22 February expired at midnight on Monday.
By the deadline, a total 159,318 claims were submitted.
In total, 344,364 claims have been made for the 4 September 2010 earthquake, subsequent aftershocks and the February quake.
Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee says the events in Canterbury since the September quake are by far the biggest natural disaster to hit New Zealand.
