The Fire Service says all buildings within the Christchurch central business district have had an assessment done.
The service's Russell Wood also said on Monday night that 80% of the buildings within the four avenues have now been searched.
But he says there are at least 30 buildings where heavy machinery will be needed to search for survivors.
Mr Wood says that, from Tuesday, the focus on the CTV building will change to daylight hours only, because the de-layering work at the site is at a very delicate stage and cannot be done safely at night.
