Federated Farmers is seeking as many light loaders and diggers as possible as it helps clean up debris in Christchurch.
It is seeking vehicles with a gross weight of no more than three tonnes.
The organisation say volunteers helped shift an estimated 1000 tonnes of debris on Sunday.
Hairdressers raising funds
Hairdressers will meet in Auckland this week to discuss what they can do for their Christchurch colleagues.
Belinda Watson, who runs an Auckland salon called Biba, says a lot can be done for hairdressers out of work because of the earthquake.
She says practical support would be useful.
Ms Watson says hairdressers are also trying to raise money for their Christchurch colleagues.
