Lyttelton houses evacuated over boulder fears

Four houses in Lyttelton have been evacuated because of fears a big boulder at the top of the Port Hills could be dislodged by an aftershock.

Civil Defence has spent the day demolishing buildings on two main streets in the port city.

Area co-ordinator for Lyttelton, Ken Maynard, says several streets were evacuated earlier on Saturday after a resident reported a rockfall.
