The cordon surrounding parts of the Christchurch city centre has shrunk with the re-opening of a section of Colombo Street.
Two blocks between Lichfield and Hereford Streets were re-opened at 5pm on Friday.
The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority hopes to have the entire area that is currently cordoned off open again by the end of of June 2013.
