Retailers planning to set up shop in Christchurch's new city centre have submitted their visions for the new retail precinct.

The precinct set out in the Government's blueprint for the future inner city is expected to be planned on the basis of lots of 7500 square metres of land.

The proposals were submitted to the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority today and will be released to the public on Friday.

They are expected to include retailers' visions for the overall look and feel of buildings, as well as walkways, parking and public spaces.

The Christchurch City Council has the final say on the plans.
